We love the written word as much as any publisher, but we are also lucky enough to connect with readers directly via our vibrant, bustling bookshop and engaged book club. We can host amazing in-person and online events via our bookshop (we have nearly 4,500 members in our meetup group), create beautiful window displays a stone’s throw from Leicester Square, and hold divination readings in the window of our store.
The book club allows us to showcase special books that require word-of-mouth and hand-selling, as well as act as the conduit to connect hundreds of people across the country at Cygnus Café meetings, where you leave your dogma at the door and engage in heart-led conversations.

Established over 130 years ago, we are one of the world’s oldest and leading independent bookshops specialising in esoterica. Since our inception, Watkins holds a proud legacy of offering one of the world’s largest selections of spiritual and esoteric literature. We stock titles on Eastern Philosophy and Western Esoterica, as well as a wide variety of contemporary forms of Mind, Body & Spirit related material.

Cygnus Books began as a small, friendly bookselling company, operating from a place called `Bwlch Agored’ (Open Way) in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Now based in London, we are still a small, friendly bookselling company who send out quarterly printed magazines packed with hand-selected titles, all of which we offer to our members at low prices. Covering Spirituality, Complementary Healthcare, Personal Growth, and Nature & Ecology.
